How Women Should ACT

When I was growing up, children were meant to be seen and not heard—and little girls, especially, were expected to be demure and quiet. In trying to meet those expectations, I became extremely shy and fearful. Standing up for myself and speaking out felt foreign.

It was easy to become a doormat. No matter how disrespected or mistreated I felt, I stayed silent. As I’ve grown older, I’ve come to realize that I had been living within invisible lines. Lines drawn by expectations. By roles I never consciously chose, yet somehow inherited.

One day, I asked myself: What else is possible?

And that question changed everything. That’s when I learned women must ACT—with audacity, courage, and tenacity.

A — Audacity

C — Courage

T — Tenacity

“There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living. “Nelson Mandela.

A is for Audacity: The Permission You’ve Been Waiting For

Audacity is often misunderstood. It’s labeled as arrogance or boldness that borders on inappropriate. Audacious women make people uncomfortable.

But for women, audacity is something far more powerful—it is self-permission.

Audacity is:

  • Speaking before you feel fully ready
  • Taking up space without apology
  • Wanting more without explaining why

For too long, women have been conditioned to soften our edges—to be more palatable, agreeable, and acceptable.

Audacity says: No more.

It asks:

  • What would I do if I stopped seeking approval?
  • What would I say if I fully trusted my voice?
  • What would I create if I believed it truly mattered?

Audacity isn’t about being loud—it’s about being aligned. It’s about refusing to hold back, even when it feels uncomfortable.

“The difference between a vision and a daydream is the audacity to act.”  Steven Furtick

C is for Courage: The Bridge Between Fear and Growth

Courage is not the absence of fear—it’s the decision that something else matters more.

Every reinvention, every bold move, every new chapter requires courage because it demands leaving the familiar behind.

Courage is:

  • Starting before you feel confident
  • Choosing yourself, even when it disappoints others
  • Moving forward without guarantees

There is no growth without discomfort. No evolution without uncertainty.

Here’s the truth most people won’t tell you:

Confidence doesn’t come before courage—it comes because of it.

Every time you act despite fear, you build evidence:

  • I can do hard things.
  • I can handle uncertainty.
  • I can trust myself.

Courage builds identity.

I am learning every day to allow the space between where I am and where I want to be to inspire me and not terrify me. Tracee Ellis Ross

“Choose the great adventure of being brave and afraid at the exact same time.” Brené Brown

T is for Tenacity: The Power of Staying in the Game

  • Audacity gets you started.
  • Courage gets you moving.
  • Tenacity carries you through.

Tenacity is the quiet, relentless force that says:

“I’m not done.”

It isn’t glamorous. It doesn’t always feel empowering. It shows up when motivation fades and doubt grows louder.

Tenacity is:

  • Continuing when progress feels slow
  • Showing up when no one is watching
  • Refusing to abandon yourself mid-journey

This is where most people stop—not because they lack ability, but because they underestimate consistency.

Tenacity turns intention into transformation.

It’s what separates a fleeting idea from a fully realized life.

“Let me tell you the secret that has led me to my goal. My strength lies solely in my tenacity.” Louis Pasteur

The ACT Framework: A New Way Forward

When these three forces come together, something powerful happens:

  • Audacity expands your vision
  • Courage activates your movement
  • Tenacity sustains your transformation

This isn’t about becoming someone new.

It’s about returning to who you’ve always been.

You are not here to fade quietly into the background of your own life.

You are here to:

  • Rewrite the narrative
  • Redefine the timeline
  • Reclaim your voice

The second half of life is a powerful, unapologetic rise into clarity, purpose, and self-ownership.

But it requires a decision:

To ACT—

  • With audacity when it feels uncomfortable
  • With courage when it feels uncertain
  • With tenacity when it feels hard

A Final Truth to Carry With You

You don’t need more time.

You don’t need more permission.

You don’t need to be more “ready.”

You need to decide that your life is worth showing up for—fully, fiercely, and without apology.

Because the woman you are becoming–

She doesn’t wait.

She ACTS.
